Fertility is usually misinterpreted with different terms. Yet, one needs to know a woman or female becomes infertile when she is unable to bear a child. While few facts claim after 30, your ovaries turn into dust, the rest claim you can get pregnant even in your 40s. Who to believe? Well, everything relies on the ovaries and the number of eggs produced in your body. Here are the few factors that affect your fertility with increasing age

With the increasing age, the ability of the uterus to hold the pregnancy becomes weak. The risk of miscarriage increases accompanied by pregnancy complications. As women begin to move towards 30’s, the risk of miscarriage is 15-20%.  Till you reach the age of 40, the risk is doubled and is up to 40-50%. Even if you end up having a baby, the chances that the kid has down syndrome and chromosomal abnormalities increases.

Women who conceive till the age of 40 is likely to have other complications such as stillbirth, gestational diabetes, and c-section.

Falling fertility

As women reach the age of 27, the ability of females to get pregnant begins to decrease. This gradually begins to decrease by the age of 37. Hence, the average couple under the age of 30 has a 95% chance of conceiving within a year. Once you’re 30+, the chances of getting pregnant decrease by 3% every year. Some females end up experiencing the problem during the early stage as well the ones who conceive without any complication at the age of 40.

Health and fertility

Women who follow super healthy diets have a misconception-the effect of aging decreases due to the super healthy food they consume. Sadly, the ovaries don’t understand this part and they act the way it is to be. Every woman’s body has a finite number of eggs. As the age increases, the quality and quantity begin to decline. Furthermore, diabetes, blood pressure, and obesity begin to contribute and make it difficult for women to conceive. Staying healthy is a choice, and it maximizes the chances of conceiving.

To keep it short, diet and exercise are not the methods that can help to prevent the aging of the ovaries.

You might be wondering, the risk with age increases, still females have kids during ’40s. How? All thanks to medical science and technology. The methods such as IVF allow females to get pregnant and embrace motherhood.

Though 20-24 is the right age when women can conceive and have a healthy pregnancy, other things such as financial stability, and relationship delays the process.

While a huge number of females have a normal and healthy pregnancy in their late 30s and 40s, many still deal with the struggles, loss, and heartbreaks. Getting pregnant at the age of 40 or in the mid of the 40s is possible via IVF treatments.
